Signe Feldstedt

I am Signe Feldstedt, a 25-year-old fashion design student at VIA Design & Business.

I OPEN ONE EYE AND REGISTER THE BLIND SPOT FROM HAVING THE OTHER EYE CLOSED

Since starting the PBA, I discovered my love of telling stories through my collections and designs. My evil little mission is to push people’s idea of what suits the body and make garments on the verge of being bad taste. My design process is often inspired by pop culture, history, music, art and people I find myself drawn to. To me fashion design is a craft, and the craftmanship of garment making is very important to me. I enjoy “getting my hands dirty” with new techniques like knitting, weaving and experimenting with fabrics, yarns etc.

I CLOSE BOTH MY EYES AND STUDY THE SHAPES AND COLORS OF THE BACK OF MY EYELIDS

Humor plays a big part in my design universe, and I generally love a good shape. A good shape (for example a nice blob-shaped blob) can be reassuring and calming. But a good shape can also be surprising and make you think “huh, that’s a surprising shape!”. The same goes for lines. I like my geometry.
