VIA Opens Public Exhibition Featuring 23 Emerging Designer Students at Herning Library

HERNING, Denmark – May 2026 — The graduating Fashion class of VIA Design & Business will open a contemporary menswear exhibition at Herning Library on 20 May 2026, presenting new work by 23 emerging designers from an international class based in Denmark. The public exhibition brings together 23 individual collections exploring modern interpretations of menswear through craftsmanship, silhouette, textile experimentation, and personal design language.

Using the men’s jacket as a shared point of departure, each designer has developed an individual response shaped by their own creative perspective. The exhibition moves between refined tailoring and experimental forms, transforming a familiar garment into a broad spectrum of contemporary expressions. Together, the collections highlight the diversity and individuality shaping a new generation of fashion talent working within Denmark’s international design environment.

Hosted within one of Herning’s central public institutions, the exhibition aims to make contemporary fashion more accessible beyond traditional industry spaces and major fashion capitals. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience original and previously unseen work while meeting the designers behind the collections during the exhibition’s opening vernissage.

“Fashion is often experienced from a distance or within closed industry environments. With this exhibition, we wanted to create something publicly accessible and invite people into the creative process behind contemporary menswear and emerging fashion design” says the graduating Fashion class of VIA Design & Business.

The vernissage will take place on 20 May from 16:00 to 18:00 at Herning Library and will feature live music, complimentary drinks, and the opportunity to experience all 23 collections in dialogue with the designers themselves. The exhibition will remain open to the public through 31 May 2026.

The exhibition’s visual identity and promotional materials have been created by award-winning graphic designer Lisa Murach.

Founded in Herning, VIA Design & Business is one of Denmark’s leading creative education environments within fashion and design, bringing together students from across multiple international backgrounds and creative disciplines.
