Hi everyone! I’m Abby, I’m 25, and I am half-Danish half-American. I’m so excited to share this creative journey with my classmates as we get ready for our grad show.
To me, fashion is more than just aesthetics; it’s about making the wearer comfortable and empowered in their self-expression.
My passion for design started with an addiction to sewing. I learned at age 11 from my mother, who learned from hers, a professional seamstress. I spent weekends making pillows for C-section patients and scrub hats for surgical techs who disliked the disposable ones. Soon after, I discovered upcycling and realized I could make clothes look however I wanted!
My current aesthetic is a blend of modern tailoring and functionality with the colors and silhouettes of vintage design. I find inspiration in everything—from the concept of light to the shape of a heel. In my next project, I’m even hoping to use pigeons!
When I’m not designing, you’ll find me doing nails, thrift shopping, or annoying my neighbor with living room concerts.
I feel so lucky to be part of this amazing group and can’t wait to see how we all grow in the next 7 months!
